food pantry

We went to the food pantry on last Thursday, and it was a sad and touching activity to see and help out with. Some of the people were very grateful for what they could get, some were also very greety and wanted more. But when walking in i felt so like fortunate, but then walking out i felt like i had helped someone and their family. Also i hope that one day they can we as fortunate as me and not have to go there to get their food or supplies.

Prom!

So this is the time of the year when we all get to get dressed up and go to a big dance. But sometimes it can start alot of controversy, and alot of drama for most girls, because they try to compete on who looks the best. But i think it would be a good idea to have prom king and queen because it will maybe make more people want to go to prom. And it will give us something to try for. And make ourselves look really pretty and or handsome. I cannot wait till prom, it was a blast last year.

Violence in Schools

As we have heard in the recent months, there has been alot of violence in alot of schools, we must do something to help. We should maybe practice more on drills of emergency. Or maybe we should try to make our school more safe. Because anyone can pretty much get in which is scary. And i also think the teachers should have some sort of weapon on them, so they can protect themselves and their class. I think we should try to put a stop to school violence.

Spring Fever!

This time of the year in my favorite, everyone is wearing bright color clothing and so smiley and happy. But it also does other stuff to us kids. It makes us not want to do our homework. We dont have to because it is so nice out, why not spend all your time outside right?. well thats wrong, because seniors and juniors really need to focus on their school work.

Sinking in debt, Northwest pool closes in Reading

The Northwest pool sold to neighboring Carpenter Technology Corp. for 350,000 dollars. They had a shortage of members, they only had 29 families. And they could not run a pool with only 29 families so they sold it. I think it is sad how everything has to close down due to money problems. Everything is getting to expensive for anyone to afford.

Police say Reading dad had cocaine, toddler in car

A man was sitting in a dark alley with his son in the back seat of the car, and the police officer saw it and thought it was weird. The officer then walked back to the car, and saw the man stuff something under the seat. The police officer then ordered the man to get out of the car, the officer then found 46 grams of crack- cocaine. He was then charged with drug possession and endangering the wel fare of a child. He is put in Berks County Prision with a bail of 100,000 dollars. I think this is rediculous to go and throw away your life over drugs. And he was very ignorant to have his child in the car.

Wyomissing installs bins to boost participation in recycling program

Wyomissing has installed eight large bins for recycling around borough parks. Each of the bins cost 800 dollars. Each of the bins has a seperation of everything so it is easier for the crew to clean up and get it to where it needs to go. I think this is a good idea, we do need to work more on recycling. If we dont we are going to kill our environment, and we are going to have no trees. That is no good because we need trees for fresh air.

Clinton in a fighting mood in Wilson High School

Hillary was at Wilson over the weekend, and gave a speech. She had alot to say that was along the same lines at Obama. But she also added a little bit of talking smack on Bush, which everyone has their own opinion, but it does not make her look professional. She said she would fight for reducing the price of oil, and will investigate on the petroleum companies that are making money on middle class Americans. I think hillary may have a chance but she also did not look so professional standing up there infront of all those people and talking smack on Bush.

Berks Students to get a grisly lesson before prom

At Kutztown, Coroner officers and emergency officers will be greeting the fellow students to show them what can happen if they are driving recklessly or under the influence, they usually seem to see the accidents close to prom so that is why they are showing it now. The students will be ushered into the stadium to where they will see the show. They are going to be shown a head-on collision. And the example is a girl that was driving under the influence. I think this is a good idea. But it could also be bad. We experienced a reality death two years ago, and it might of taught some people something but others stil have not learned. It is a very scary thought for everyone.

2.600 pack Reading High School for High energy Obama Rally

Obama over the weekend made a visit to Reading High, and gave a speech. People believe that Obama will win the majority of the Democratic votes. He pretty much talked about how the prices on everything is going up. And how alot of people in Reading are losing their jobs and cant afford everyday needs. He also states that everyone will have affordeble health care, and quality. All children will have the chance for a good education from pre-school to college. I think all together Obama has alot of good things to say, but it is going to be a hard race to see who wins.
